Introduction

My name is Imaan Mohammed and for my A2 theme I am looking into growth and decay. I am fascinated with this theme as it allows me to go into a wide range of different areas as growth and decay can lead paths to rust and mould as well as the growth of plants, nature and its DNA.  I really enjoy doing textiles as I believe it gives me the ability to create fabric pieces I could only dream about.  I also enjoy learning new skills as it helps build on what I already know. The theme I have chosen this year excites me as it will allow me to learn new creative techniques which I will then incorporate into my work in the style of the textile artist I am looking into. This theme allows me to go into a range of fabrics as I will be manipulating them to create samples as well as using fabrics to replicate the texture of my images.  I am particularly interested in mould and all the colours it contains.
